Friday, the 2nd of February 2012, some delegations from Shu-Te University, Taiwan, visited President University, Indonesia, to get to know one another and to discuss the possibility of collaborating in different university areas under student grants. Shu-Te University was represented by Ms. Pi-Yun Chen, Ph.D., an Overseas Vice President and an Assistant Professor of Business Administration, who were welcomed by Mr. Sendy Widjaja, MBA and Mr. Jhanghiz Syahrivar, SE., MM., the Vice Rector and the Head of Public Relations Division of President University subsequently. During her visit, Ms. Pi-Yun Chen was also accompanied by her colleagues: Mr. Charles C. Li, the Deputy Representative of Taipei Economic and Trade Office – Indonesia; Mr. Leonardi Laud and Mr. Hengky Lau, both were from Ikatan Citra Alumni Taiwan Indonesia or ICATI.
Shu-Te University was initially known as “Shu-Te Institute of Technology” founded in Yen Chau, Kaohsiung, Taiwan, in 1997. Three years later, in 2000, the institution was renamed “Shu-Te University” after obtaining accreditation from the Ministry of Education, Taiwan. Shu-Te University currently consists of five colleges, fifteen departments, and nine graduate schools, and has approximately 12,000 students on and off campus.
After having 1-hour meeting started at 11.00 am, the delegations were brought to see around the campus and student housing areas. After that, delegations from both President University and Shu-Te University were having nice lunch at President Executive Club.
