Eligibility
Admission Requirements
The basic requirements for admission in PU are the following:
- The prospective student has graduated from SMA/SMK/MAN/STM, or D1 program; or, if transferring from another local or foreign institution had earned credits equivalent to at least one semester or 24 credits.
- The prospective student has successfully passed the university’s Placement Test.
Testing Requirements
- PU requires prospective students to undertake and successfully pass an Placement Test where the composition of such a test varies depending on the degree field chosen by the prospective student.
- Placement tests are prepared by the Academic Faculties. Aside from the basic tests, Faculties can recommend any other assessment tools it may deem necessary to screen its own prospective students.
- A student has to achieve a cumulative score (CS) of at least 40% irrespective of the combination of scores attained in the four (4) subjects: Physics, Mathematics of Business, Engineering Mathematics and English. The exception to this rule is that when a student has scored 80% or above in either Physics or Engineering Mathematics, but attains a cumulative score of less than 40%, he she will be considered accepted by the University.
- Pre-University courses - PU will offer prospective students with preparatory or "bridging courses" on the subjects below in case their placement tests results fall below the minimum requirements for admission into their chosen degree or field of study.
